Welcome!

Graduate positions available!

I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Victoria (UVic). My key interests lie in the design of sustainable technologies. Specifically, I am interested in energy-related technologies, growing out of my graduate work on wind turbines. My aim is to grow this experience into the area of energy systems analysis. This will motivate and inform further detailed design projects, in areas such as wind turbines, wave/tidal devices, flywheels, solar thermal energy capture, and bicycle design, to name but a few areas of a diverse interest set!

I am in the process of setting up my research lab, with a view to establishing industrial links in Canada and worldwide. I enjoy seeing projects developed in academia that have practical application in the real world. If you or your company are interested in collaborating, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Interested and motivated students are also welcome to get in contact to pursue Master's and PhD studies with me at UVic. You may expect to hear back from me if our areas of interest and experience overlap and warrant further conversation.

Please roam around the site to learn more about my activities here at UVic. This site is undergoing construction, so check back for updates!
