Characteristics of energy systems: evolution, energy currencies, energy sources, dynamics of energy systems. Levelized cost of energy, screening curves. Electrification, system requirements, variability, generation mixtures, and dispatch. The role of storage: characteristics of storage technologies, analysis of storage impacts, cost. Issues associated with the delivery of energy services such as sustainability, emissions, cost and energy intensity.
