Description

Students learn the importance of understanding the psychological and sociological context within which youth live. They learn to identify relevant issues, become informed and locate them within the cultural context of particular adolescents. Students explore intervention possibilities and appropriate fit to specific issues in particular cultural contexts. Building on students' knowledge and experience, Elders and students work from the perspective of their own community and culture to generate knowledge about supporting adolescents.
