Description

Under the direction of a member of the department students prepare an honours thesis, a research essay normally based on primary sources. After acceptance of the thesis by the supervising faculty member, the student defends it in an oral examination. The thesis is 7,500-10,000 words in length unless it is an expansion of a third-year honours essay (HSTR 497), in which case it is 15,000-20,000 words in length.
