Methods of meeting children's needs for health, safety and nutrition vary according to culture and environment, so this course explores the needs of children in the communities where learners plan to work. Traditional ways of ensuring health and safety are considered alongside strategies for educating and working with parents, families and community members. Students identify a community health issue, identify health indicators and explore community-based solutions.
