AHVS370A - Popular Film and Cultural Theory
Description
A study of popular film and its social and political function. Special attention is paid to mainstream films, especially Hollywood genre films, in the interest of exploring the ideological significance of popular film. An exploration of divergent views on the role of popular film within cultural theory provides the context for the analysis of selected films.
