HSTR389A - Public Histories Local and Global
Description
Public history is the presentation of the past outside academia, where people learn about the past when they visit museums, watch TV, take walking tours, go online, see films, or read novels that seek to represent worlds as they once were. Introduces students to the diverse field of public history: its definitions, its practitioners, its methods and its debates. Field trips showcase local public history.
