In-depth examination of contemporary issues related to the sociology of racialization, ethnicity, and decolonization. Topics may include: racialization and racism, ethnicity and ethnocentrism, European colonialism, normalization of whiteness, domination, cultural imperialism, gender and racialization, gendered aspects of colonization, settler colonialism, decolonization, liberation.

Recommendations

SOCI 103 and SOCI 384 are recommended prior to SOCI 430A.
