Prose writings (novels, autobiography, essays, short stories) of the early 19th century. Focus on works by Jane Austen, Sir Walter Scott, Mary Shelley, James Hogg, Thomas DeQuincey, and the Bröntes; Gothic novels, historical novels and novels of manners.
