							I am looking for highly 
							qualified and highly motivated graduate students to 
							study towards Ph.D., M.Sc., or M.Eng. degree 
							in the general areas of control engineering, 
							robotics, and information processing for mechanical 
							systems.  
							Currently I am 
							particularly interested in recruiting students with 
							research interest/background in one or more of the

								Networked and Distributed Control Systems
								Model Predictive Control (MPC) and Distributed MPCMechatronics and RoboticsControl and Information Processing for Energy-Efficient ApplicationsControl and Navigation of Autonomous Vehicles (autonomous underwater vehicles, unmanned autonomous vehicles, etc.) Modeling and Control of Industrial Cyber-Physical Systems Interested students are

								The Natural Sciences and Engineering Research 
								Council (NSERC) has a competition in early 
								October every year for Postgraduate 
								and Canada Graduate Scholarships (PGS/CGS). 
								NSERC PGS and CGS scholarship winners 
								automatically receive a UVic President's 
								Research Scholarship valued at $4,000.
								
								NSERC Undergraduate Student Research Awards (USRA) 
								can provide partial funding for undergraduate 
								students doing co-op projects in the ACIPL.
								
								Wighton Engineering Product Development Fund 
								administered by the UVic Engineering Faculty to 
								support projects aimed at developing marketable 
								products.
								
								International students may be able to tap into 
								scholarship funds from their own country, or scholarships 
								available to international students from Canada.
